Modified MotorsTeam Checkpoint is driving the evolution of modified motor technology. The components described here — the same as those in the motors that you buy — are why our factory drivers like Jared Tebo are racking up wins at some of the most competitive on- and off-road races. |

Endbell
Team Checkpoint motor endbells are precision CNC-machined from billet aluminum — providing perfect brush-hood alignment and lowering brush operating temperatures by serving as an integrated heat sink.
- Class 3 hard-anodized black finish serves as an insulator for the positive and negative poles.
- Polarity and timing marks are laser-etched clearly to identify solder locations and degrees of timing.
- Perfect Fit™ Bearing Retention System.
- Attached, surface mounted capacitors helps eliminate unwanted radio interference associated with high-performance electric motors.

Brush Hood
[A] The brush hood, made from silver-plated copper, features our uniquely engineered brush positioning tube. It allows the brushes to be positioned closer to the commutator than those of any previous designs, reducing any unwanted movement which eliminates the chance for brush bounce and arcing.
[B] Using a secure fastener, the keyed brush positioning tube is fixed through the hood and into the endbell. |

Armature
The armature is handwound, using the most current pattern winding techniques on the highest-quality arm blanks available.
- [A] Drill balanced stacks produce an efficient, true-running armature free of power-robbing vibration.
- [B] The diamond-cut commutator provides a perfect seat for the brushes and can be re-trued when maintenance is needed.

Brushes
Team Checkpoint Modified Motors include race-tested Infinity Tri-Silver brushes. Factory-installed, they provide a balance of power and longevity for unmatched performance over multiple runs. On-track testing shows that the motor actually gains power without diminished efficiency, after several runs on these brushes!
- Precision-molded in our exclusive Tri-Silver compound.
- Shunt wires are extra-large to handle the high currents produced when racing.
- An alignment key ensures perfect brush positioning run after run.
Springs
Each Team Checkpoint motor includes medium stiffness, Gold coil springs. Both springs are compressed equally inside the retainer nuts on the back side of the brushes. This provides the exact force needed for the brush face to make proper contact on the comm.
By not twisting the brush springs — like on most conventional spiral spring designs — Team Checkpoint's coil spring is more consistent and will not cause brush bounce over time. |

Can
The 1.4mm thick can features eight vent slots and a black oxide finish, which together help combat heat soak of the individual motor components. Powerful FB9 wet magnets remain strong after the most demanding runs, like those experienced within the high-heat environment of modern touring car racing. |
